ALDH5A1 Recombinant Protein

Aldh5a1 recombinant protein Catalog: OPCA02588 | Size: one vial | Price: €425.05 Supplier: aviva ASK
Storage: For short term storage ALDH5A1 Recombinant Protein may be kep at +4 deg. C. For long term storage keep the aliquoted vials frozen at -20 degrees Celsius. Tips: Due to handling and transportation, small amounts of the ALDH5A1 Recombinant Protein may get caught on the walls or seal of the vials. Prior to use briefly rund the vial(s) through a centrifuge to collect all of the content on the bottom. Avoid freezing and thawing the vials numerous times as such cycles may denaturate the peptide chains and influence the item's performance. Alternative name: ALDH5A1 recombinant Protein

ALDH5A1 gene: aldehyde dehydrogenase 5 family member A1

SSADH, SSDH

Summary

This protein belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family of proteins. This gene encodes a mitochondrial NAD(+)-dependent succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase. A deficiency of this enzyme, known as 4-hydroxybutyricaciduria, is a rare inborn error in the metabolism of the neurotransmitter 4-aminobutyric acid (GABA). In response to the defect, physiologic fluids from patients accumulate GHB, a compound with numerous neuromodulatory properties. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
