This gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which consists of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. These enzymes catalyze the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to their corresponding alcohols using NADH and/or NADPH as cofactors. The enzymes display overlapping but distinct substrate specificity. This enzyme binds bile acid with high affinity, and shows minimal 3-alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity. This gene shares high sequence identity with three other gene members and is clustered with those three genes at chromosome 10p15-p14. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
DNA lentivector for transduction information Lentiveral packaging plasmid DNA for non-viral plasmid transfection and direct use in plasmid expression. This DNA can alos be used for packaging into Lentiviral particles for high efficiency transduction and stably integrated expressions. GENTAUR suggests to use our ABM packaging mix LV003 of second generation virusses or the LV053, our 3rd Generation Packaging mixture. pLenti lentiviral plasmids DNAs are stored in 10milliMolar Tris/HCI with 1mM EDTA at a pH of 8 at -25 C. Vectors with selection markers like kanamycin, puromycin or cumate are available.Lentiviral technical files <a href="https://www.abmgood.com/UbC-Lentivirus-System.html" target="_blank" title="https://www.abmgood.com/UbC-Lentivirus-System.html"><i class="fa fa-external-link" aria-hidden="true"></i></a>Lentivirus references <a href="http://compbio.dfci.harvard.edu/compbio/research/labprotocols/contentBlocks/0/contentBlock_files/file15/Lentivirus_Production_and_Transfection_Protocol.pdf" target="_blank" title="http://compbio.dfci.harvard.edu/compbio/research/labprotocols/contentBlocks/0/contentBlock_files/file15/Lentivirus_Production_and_Transfection_Protocol.pdf"><i class="fa fa-external-link" aria-hidden="true"></i></a>

Storage For short term storage AKR1C2 Recombinant Protein may be kep at +4 deg. C. For long term storage keep the aliquoted vials frozen at -20 degrees Celsius.Tips Due to handling and transportation, small amounts of the AKR1C2 Recombinant Protein may get caught on the walls or seal of the vials. Prior to use briefly rund the vial(s) through a centrifuge to collect all of the content on the bottom. Avoid freezing and thawing the vials numerous times as such cycles may denaturate the peptide chains and influence the item's performance.Alternative name aldo-keto reductase family 1, member complement component 2 (dihydrodiol dehydrogenase 2; bile acid binding protein; 3-a hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, classification III) recombinant Protein
